Global Styles

By default, every style that is applied to an object is “local” to that object. If the style is changed, the change applies only to that object. “Global” styles can be shared among objects. In this way, style changes can be made very quickly and efficiently across multiple objects.

This is an advanced feature enabled in the Artboard Preferences.

The Styles Tab

The Styles Tab is used to create and edit simple fill and stroke styles, and to create expert “stacked” styles with a variety of stroke and fill style components. When an object is selected, or a drawing tool that uses styles is active, the active style is shown in the Styles tab.

Artboard styles are built by adding one or more style component. The default ‘Reset’ style contains a stroke and fill.
