The Roses & Rhumbs Map Symbol Collection from Mapdiva, LLC is a delightful collection of fully editable compass rose and rhumb line vector graphics. The collection includes 10 fanciful compass rose symbols and two rhumb line graphics ideal for embellishing classic-style map designs for presentation and publication.
Compass Rose
A compass rose, sometimes called a windrose, is a cartographic element found on maps and nautical charts used to display the orientation of the cardinal directions, — north, south, east, and west.
Rhumb Lines
Rhumb lines are directional lines of constant bearing used in cartography. That is, if you follow a compass bearing of East without deviation, you will be following a rhumb line. Rhumb lines are a classic map element commonly seen on navigation charts (portolan charts).
