Ortelius Map Design Software (Mac) Hills & Mountains Collection

The Hills & Mountains symbol collection includes an astonishing array of 126 editable vector map symbols modeled after great classic cartographers such as Erwin Raisz andĀ Abraham Ortelius, and distinguished calligrapher Heather Child.

These custom symbols are perfect for illustrating pictorial-styled maps used in websites, magazines, and brochures.

Installation Instructions

Download & unzip the file as necessary, then choose “Import Collection” from the Library Manager – Action Menu. The collection will be imported into My Library and displayed. For use with Ortelius 1.1 and later.

Alternatively, double-click the unzipped file in Finder to automatically launch Ortelius and install the collection.

Attribution is requested when sharing with others, however is not required within the content area of a map in which the symbols are used (please don’t clutter your maps in order to provide attribution!).

    Hi Will,
    Thanks for the nice comment. We’re always interested in pushing the Ortelius Style Inspector and new Library Manager to see what we can do with new symbols collections. Let us know if you have some specific examples for inspiration. The Library Manager also paves the way to some exciting potential for user-shared collections (just a hint of what’s to come ;) ).
